In an Asian tourist pattern dominated by capital cities, Thailand’s something extra is Pattaya, the beach resort two hours’ drive from Bangkok which has developed the kind of facilities international tour operators can take seriously. By the end of last year, 16 percent of all foreign visitors to Thailand were including it.

PATTAYA’s hotel owners have after months of deliberation joined together to form a new association called the Pattaya Resort Tourist Association. The new group was called together following a series of meetings convened at the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel where owners of the major first class hotels at the resort discussed some of the problems plaguing the development of Pattaya.
