BOSH finds Pattaya a rewarding place

April 21, 1976 by Michael Swart

Perhaps our headline states the obvious, but for about 500 visitors from Italy recently, the Beach Hotel was rewarding in a special sense of the word. They were all members of the Italian division of the giant Bosch automobile components company and each one was on holiday at the Cliff as a reward for a job well done.

These Bosch super- came from all parts of Italy in four groups under an incentive scheme arranged by Bosch with Hotel Plan in Italy and the World Travel Service in Bangkok.

Company President Enrico Pamigo was on hand most of the time to ensure that his colleagues had the sort of special holiday which he thought they had earned and he himself seemed to be the most popular man among the 500. On one occasion, his staff spontaneously invested more than US$ 300 on flowers which they then proceeded to shower on the blushing Signor Pamigo.

Such charima at the top is eloquent testimony to the spirit which makes Bosch one of ’s most successful enterprises.

At the time of going to press, our Italian guests have been entertained with Thai classical dancing, a troup of six elephants from the nearby Elephant Kraal and a veritable army of go-go dancers. It is not known at this moment just what surprises Marketing Director Freddi has in store for the last group, but, on doubt, he will present something special with his customary panache.

On the final night of each group’s stay, there has been a breathtaking display of fireworks, as bright and sparkling as the mood shown by the visitors themselves. We have the strong impression that they would like to come back and, for our part, we would warmly welcome their return.

Transportation between Royal Cliff and Bangkok

April 19, 1976 by Michael Swart

There are as yet no air, rail or sea routes between Bangkok and Pattaya and access is only by road. Groups are normally transported direct from Don Muang Airport to the hotel by luxury coaches. The journey takes about two and half hours.

There are regular scheduled coach services from Bangkok directly to the front door of the Hotel operated by the Diamond Coach Service. There are also coach services from some of the Bangkok Hotel to the Royal Cliff. Ask for details from the World Desk in the lobby. There services are operated from the Royal Cliff as well and the one-way individual fare is approximately $ 3. Private air-conditioned limousines are also available to and from the airport and the leading hotels in Bangkok. They accommodate ¾ people in comfort and ample luggage. One-way fare is about $ 35 per car. The Travel Desk in the lobby will make the arrangements or at the airport, consult the Thai International Transportation desk.
