A group of 13 students from The Intercontinental Hotel School of Sydney, Australia, recently visited the multi award-winning Royal Cliff Beach Resort to explore Thai culinary wonders!
Led by Mr. Jacques Laurent, Professeur de Cuisine of the hotel school, the students attended a four-day Thai cooking course and received hands-on training on how to craft various Thai delicacies at the Royal Cliff School of Thai Culinary Arts located in the Royal Cliff Grand & Spa, one of the four 5-Star hotels of the Resort.
Mr. Vichien Chomsawadi, Thai Chef and Instructor of the Royal Cliff School, appraised the students of the art of Thai cooking and explained the prominence of using Thai herbs and ingredients. Later, he gave a demonstration of how to cook delicious Thai dishes such as “Lap Kai” (Spicy savory chopped chicken and herbs salad), “Khai Yad Sai” (Savory stuffed omelette), “Phanaeng Moo” (Dried red pork curry), “Tom Kha Kai” (Spicy coconut milk soup with chicken and herbs) and “Tap Tim Krob” (Artificial pomegranate seeds).
Mr. Ranjith Chandrasiri, Deputy General Manager of the Royal Cliff Beach Resort, presented “Thai Culinary Arts Certificates” to the students upon their successful completion of the course.
The Royal Cliff School of Thai Culinary Arts was chosen for the 6th time in succession this year over other cooking schools in Bangkok and Pattaya by the programme organisers in view of its more direct and hands-on approach in training foreign students. The school holds Thai cooking classes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the fee per person is Baht 990 nett for a 3-hour class, which includes lunch.
