Royal Cliff Beach Resort Donates Cash, Food to Father Ray Foundation

As part of its corporate social responsibility, the Royal Cliff Beach Resort recently donated Baht 200,000 as well as rice and Thai snacks to Father Ray Foundation, which manages an orphanage, a home for the street children and 3 schools for the physically-challenged located in Banglamung district, .

The donation in cash and kind will benefit as many as 750 boys and girls who are the inmates or students of the Children’s Home Foundation ( Orphanage), the School for the Deaf Children, the Redemptorist Vocational Training School for the Disabled, the Redemptorist School for the Blind and the Redemptorist Home for Street Kids.

The Royal Cliff Beach Resort’s Managing Director Mrs. Panga Vathanakul presented a cheque for Baht 200,000 and the rice and Thai snacks to the Foundation’s Director Rev. Lawrence Patin. The Resort’s Executive Director Mr. Vathanai Vathanakul, General Manager Mr. Alexander Haeusler and other executives of the resort were also present on the occasion.

The Royal Cliff Beach Resort won again the much-coveted “Award of Excellence for Convention Hotel (Eastern Region)” for 2006 from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

The Royal Cliff Beach Resort is one of the four hotels in the country to receive the prestigious award under the main category – Tourist Accommodation and one of the two to win it under the sub-category – -Directed.

The TAT’s Award of Excellence is considered as a mark of glory and assurance of quality in the tourism industry. The Resort was adjudged by the Awards Panel as: “a convention hotel with the capacity to accommodate international conferences and well-equipped for different kinds of conventions. The rooms are of universal standard. The environment and energy saving management is highly efficient and the service is of five-star standard.”

Previously, the Resort won the Award of Excellence in 2004. Also, it was recipient of the “Best Resort Accommodation Award (Eastern Region)” in 2000 and 2002.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports’ Permanent Secretary Mr. Sakthip Krailerk presented the Award of Excellence to the Resort’s Executive Director Mr. Vathanai Vathanakul at the 6th Thailand Tourism Awards 2006 held in Bangkok on 27 September coinciding with the World Tourism Day.

Since its inception in 1973, the Royal Cliff Beach Resort has won several awards, the most recent ones being the Award of Excellence 2006 from the Wine Spectator magazine (New York), the Star of Travel.Ru Award from Zvezda Travel of Russia, the EIA Monitoring Award 2005 from Thailand’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Best Meetings & Conventions Hotel from Travel Trade Gazette () and Pacific Travel Association, and the Green Planet Award 2005 from Kuoni Travel Group (Switzerland).

Taiwanese Media Group Visits Cliff Spa

A group of journalists from the print and TV media in visited the multi award-winning to learn about various facials, body treatments and massages offered to guests at the Cliff Spa.

The media trip was sponsored by Thailand Trade and Economic Office (TTEO) in Taipei with the objective of promoting Thailand as a destination for spa treatments, medical and health services. The scribes were led by Ms. Nualpan Mahakun, Executive Director of TTEO, in their tour.
