The Royal Cliff Wine Club, Asia’s leading wine club, hosted the Spectacular Bordeaux Wine Gala Dinner at the award-winning Grill Room & Wine Cellar, Royal Cliff Beach Hotel, on Friday, 24 November 2006.
The Gala Dinner showcased EIGHT legendary red wines from two of the world famous and prestigious chateaux in Bordeaux, France, presented personally by two highly respected personalities in the world of wines. The duo was none other than Mr. Hubert de Bouard de Laforest, Owner/Oenologist of Chateau Angelus Premier Grand Cru Classe, and Mr. Gildas d’Ollone, Managing Director of Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande.
Mr. Hubert de Bouard de Laforest is a young generation oenologist/winemaker who had taken over an already amazing property and its wines and brought them to a new level of prestige and recognition. Chateau Angelus was promoted from Grand Cru to Premier Grand Cru in 1996 under the guidance of Hubert de Bouard and it is the only time in history that someone has managed to achieve the recognition.
A musician turned oenologist, Mr. Gildas d’Ollone is a highly respected personality in the world of wines today. His passion for wine took him to be in charge of Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, a chateau that is renowned to make one of the most-sought-after wines in the world.
Along with the eight finest Bordeaux wines, this very rare and prestigious event offered Pommery Champagne and a fabulous seven course menu.
The Royal Cliff Wine Club is open to limited new memberships. For applications or enquiries, email to: wineclub@royalcliff.com.
