The Eastern Seaboard of Thailand boasts an abundance of Championship Class Golf Courses, by designers such as Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Peter Thompson, Gary Player, Robert Trent Jones Jr., Ronald Fream and others of the same status. Below we have presented information on a few of the over 20 golf courses that are within a 1 hour drive of the beautiful beach side resort of Pattaya, Thailand.

Eastern Star Resort Country Club
esr small01 Pattaya Golf This pleasant “layout has four sets of tees and measures only 6,100 yards from the yellow markers, but stretches to 7,134 from the champion tee. The emphasis here is not so much on trees as obstacles, but bunkers; 69 in total. Basically a thinking man’s course, it features sandy terrain, water along the fairways and numerous dog-legs. The par four holes are not overly long, which makes for enjoyable golf. The clubhouse amenities are good, and there is also a swimming pool, tennis court and a sports complex. The hotels of Jomtien beach and Pattaya are not far from the club.

Khao Kheow Country Club
kkc small01 Pattaya Golf The first 18 holes here have been designed as a stadium championship course and the second 18 holes as a resort course. Both are surrounded by hills. When the wind blows, players need to plan their shots on account of the numerous bunkers surrounding the greens and large ponds surrounding the fairways. Signature hole seventeen is a very challenging par three where the tee shot must be hit to an island green. Clubhouse facilities are extensive and there is a sports complex, in addition to a swimming pool and tennis courts. Hotel accommodation is available.

Bangpra International Golf Club
ban small03 Pattaya Golf Set amongst Sri Racha’s jungle covered hills. With natural hazards such as trees, ponds and lakes flanking many of the fast greens the course offers spectacular, yet often difficult, holes in a truly environmentally-friendly setting.
This 18-hole championship golf course has been designed to offer a host of very difficult and exciting challenges on every fairway and green. Originally opened 1958 and was completely redesigned in 1987.

Phoenix Golf & Country Club
pgc small02 Pattaya Golf Blessed with a wooded, rolling terrain, this coastal course comprises three nines-”Ocean”, “Lake” and “Mountain”. The fairways tend to be narrow, but the greens are tend to be narrow, but the greens are spacious and landscaped with bamboo, eucalyptus and bushes. Water has been used sparingly, except for the middle nine where there is plenty of it. This is exemplified on the very tough par-four 17th, which dog-legs left around a big lake. The second shot here has to be played with extreme accuracy as there is water on the left and right approach to the green. Good clubhouse facilities, a sports complex and nearness to Pattaya make this course well worth visiting.

Laem Chabang International Country Club
lic small01 Pattaya Golf This championship course designed by Jack Nicklaus is undoubtedly one of the finest golf courses in Thailand. The three nines comprising the 27-hole layout-’Mountain’, ‘Lake’ and ‘Creek’ offer interesting variations in terrain. The rolling hills of the surrounding countryside have been used to effect, and the exposed rock formations add to the beauty of the fairways. Lakes, ponds and creeks pose a major threat to stray shots and some of the water carries are very challenging. The large, undulating greens are mostly elevated and protected by wide bunkers. Excellent clubhouse facilities and accommodations on site complement the outstanding golf course.

Pattaya Golf Club
The Old Course is one of finest natural courses in the country. This is borne out from the very first tee which is set high up on a plateau. Even a poor shot played from there will roll down the hill. Hills indeed, are one of the main features of this delightful course, with scenic views at every turn. The third and fourth holes are played in the vicinity of a huge lake as are the twelfth and short thirteenth. The home hole is up-hill all the way to the green and from there a rope lift helps weary golfers back to the clubhouse, both courses are quite difficult, but the Old Course has the best view.

Sriracha International Golf Club
sig small01 Pattaya Golf Gary Player’s contribution to golf in Thailand is a relatively short course set in beautiful countryside. The course does not feature many water hazards and the par-four holes tend to be short, especially from the standard men’s tees. There are many uphill and downhill fairway lies. The greens and bunkers are beautifully maintained. Clubhouse facilities are very good, including an enormous swimming pool. There are some accommodations available in the neighboring condominiums.

Siam Country Club Golf Course
siam small03 Pattaya Golf Siam Country Club is without doubt one of the finest and most difficult courses in Thailand. Set in lovely country in low hills behind Pattaya, the course is well-established and has masses of mature trees and shrubs. Long, straight driving is required to negotiate the often narrow fairways. Dotted with many bunkers and water hazards, the course boasts several dramatic holes, particularly the last four. The home hole is a long, dog-leg par five, uphill towards the rather unusual clubhouse. Rooms are available at the club, but most golfers opt to stay in Pattaya.

Rayong Green Valley Country Club
rgv small04 Pattaya Golf This beautifully landscaped course set in attractive countryside is a delight to play. The layout features a profusion of flora and large rocks. Lodged on the side of a hill, the rocky outcrops and boulders pose additional hazards. Bunkers have been used very intelligently, inviting the good golfer to drive over them, whilst the lesser player has plenty of room to lay up. There are some very cunning dog-leg holes to complete the challenge. There is a fine clubhouse, Polo club and equestrian track. Houses and a condominium overlook the golf course.

Pattaya Sport Club
There are currently 19 tournament style golf courses on the Eastern Seaboard between Chonburi and Rayong, an area which stretches approximately 40 km north and 40 km south of Pattaya. They are all very good courses and most are excellent. Designers include Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Nick Faldo, Dye Design, Peter Thompson, Desmond Muirhead and Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

Burapha Golf Club

Crystal Bay Golf Club
The three 9-hole sections were designed by Thai Takenaka and opened in 1988. Crystal Bay has been described as a Hawaiian links style of course with its swinging palms and lush fairways. This course shares all the wonderful features that you will find on eastern Thailand courses; good tees, lush fairways and fair greens. Testing par 3s is a feature of the course. Water is also used for the beauty of the course, not always just as a hazard.

Mountain Shadow Golf Club
This is a course that good players will need to play a few times in order to shoot a good score. Either that or have a caddie who realizes you can hit it out of your shadow. A good variety of holes, small and undulating greens with some very tricky pin locations possible, make this a tough, but fair test of golf.

St. Andrews Golf Club
st.a small01 Pattaya Golf About 45 minutes from Pattaya, Desmond Muirhead has created Thailand’s most interesting golf course. It’s two Par 6’s are maybe a bit much for the golf course purist, but there’s certainly some spectacular holes and views and it’s a pleasure to play if you’re mid to low handicapper. The course conditions are good, without being fantastic, and the neighboring Green Valley Rayong Country Club makes it popular with the golf tourist.

The Century Golf & Country Club Rayong

Great Lake Golf & Country Club

glg small01 Pattaya Golf Great Lake Golf and Country Club offers two distinctively diferent 18 hole courses to cater for golfer, The standdard course and the championchip courses. Nick faldo has designed the courses in hamony with country side. The fairways and green are gentlyundulating, Lakes, Ponds and stream are plentiful, and trees, plants and flower provide shade, Fresh air and beauty throughout.

Natural Park Hill Resort Country Club

nph small03 Pattaya Golf Built on a former mango plantation this beautiful Ronald Fream designed course has tropical foliage that creates the perfect surroundings for each hole. The par-five 6th and 14th both have the greens tucked behind huge water hazards and the dog-leg approach make the holes even more exacting. Two of the par-three holes require the player to hit a water carry to island greens. There are pleasant views of the course from the clubhouse which provides many amenities. Natural Park Hills is up amongst the great courses in Thailand, and one of the most challenging 18 holes on the Eastern Seaboard Region. Plenty of water and narrow fairways makes this course a true test of your golfing skills.
It is a low handicapper’s favorite.

Natural Park Resort Country Club

npr small03 Pattaya Golf Immaculately manicured, park like course, richly decorated with flowers and shrubs. Having been recently improved by the addition of palm trees the course layout is now vastly more beautiful to experience. The clubhouse facilities are superb – a very popular golf course.

Noble Place Golf Resort & Country Club

npg small04 Pattaya Golf Nobel Place is a full sized 18 hole ( later to be 27 ) British style course with many unique features. Designed by Peter W. Thompson under the close supervision of leading golf architect Michael S. Wolveride, it offers a demanding but enjoyable challenge to your golfing skills. The landscaped beauty and lush turf are dotted with characteristic pot bunkers and areas of ‘native’ lemon grass which require particular skills to escape from first time. A round of golf at Noble Place will be full of fun and surprises and a real challenge.

Soi Dao Highland Golf Course

Phutaluang Royal Thai Navy Golf Course

prt small03 Pattaya Golf Built by the Royal Thai Navy and opened in 1968, Phutaluang is a real character course set in some of Thailand’s loveliest natural surroundings. The 27 hole, par 27 hilly layout demands physical and mental skills and accurate play. The dramatic 1st tee offers a spectacular 410 yard par 4 and requires a good shot over thick jungle to a parched fairway with trees on both sides and an approach across a rivulet to a well bunkered sloping green. A good test of golf in a mature setting.
